The Powertrain

Two variable-displacement pumps located in a single housing provide hydraulic power for the two hydraulic drive motors.; A fixed-displacement pump provides hydraulic power for the loader arms and accessories. A smaller fixed-displacement pump provides hydraulic power for circulating the hydraulic fluid through filters, and provides pressure to the pilot controls.

Hydraulic fluid

A hydraulic fluid or hydraulic liquid is the medium by which power is transferred in hydraulic machinery.Common hydraulic fluids are based on mineral oil or water. Examples of equipment that might use hydraulic fluids are excavators and backhoes, hydraulic brakes, power steering systems, automatic transmissions, garbage trucks, aircraft flight control systems, lifts, and industrial machinery.

Guide to Hydraulic Oil

Hydraulic oil for heavy-duty use. Heavy-duty hydraulic oil is necessary for high-pressure environments where the fluid needs to be able to cope with large amounts of stress. The hydraulic oil additives used here will typically contain anti-wear properties. Anti-wear hydraulic oil is one of the most common blends used in industry and construction.

Solving Hydraulic System Overheating Problems

Every hydraulic system is adversely affected by excessive heat. The impact of excessive heat in a hydraulic system can be particularly insidious because of the subtlety of its effects. Over time, excessive heat can lead to system damage due to seal failure as well as hydraulic fluid breakdown.

hydraulic oil overheat

 · Thanks for the reply, its not the sensor as when the oil is hot the machine starts to move slower,eg swing,we changed to oil to a heavier one from 68 to 120-130, as it is hot in the Caribbean where it is working, NOTE:the machine runs great when cool such as in the morning and evening or when raining and at night. We are thinkin of changing the valve banks and see if it helps.

Hydraulics for Loader

 · I plan on building a loader for my compact tractor (Ford ). I am wondering if I am missing something. If I want to use the internal hydraulic pump I believe all I need the tractor to supply is hydraulic pressue and I have to provide a return. Everything else is a function of the loader (i.e control valves, hoses, etc.).

Hydraulic Oil Coolers

Hydraulic oil coolers, also called heat exchangers, use air or water to cool fluid in hydraulic systems. They pass oil through a coil or core to cool the oil before it enters the system. Heated oil causes excess wear on seals, surfaces, and other components, which can cause particulate buildup, damage components, and shorten the system's life span.

Remove water from hydraulic oil

 · When your loader gets wet, the opportunity for water to make its way into your hydraulic system exists. Water, especially "free" water not dissolved in the oil, can cause corrosion, modify viscosity, reduce lubrication and increase oxidation.
